The “Booklatan sa Bayan” is a major program of the National Book Development Board (NBDB) that aims to renew public interest in reading, encourage the development of original content, and support library systems/centers and other points of book access. Implemented in partnership with government agencies and other entities, it offers capacity-building services to industry stakeholders through the conduct of training workshops, storytelling sessions, book fairs, book distributions, book donations, etc. in major cities and provinces in the country.

To ensure the success of the program through effective selection of experts/facilitators, the NBDB is opening the Call for Resource Speakers for the following Booklatan sa Bayan events:

Pampanga, April 14-16, 2020

Training Workshop on Writing Children’s Stories
Ilocos Sur, April 28-30, 2020

Surigao del Sur, May 12-14, 2020

The details of Resource Speakers to be engaged for each Booklatan sa Bayan event—including the minimum qualifications, documents to be submitted, and Terms of Reference (TOR)—can be accessed through this link

Interested individuals are advised to e-mail the documentary requirements to (following the prescribed SUBJECT TITLE) not later than 5:00 PM of the deadline indicated.

The Field Monitoring, Education and Training Division (FMETD) of the NBDB shall review all documents received and notify the successful candidate within five (5) days after the closing date of the call. The Resource Speaker shall be paid a professional fee commensurate to his/her level of competency, as well as provided with airfare (as applicable), hotel accommodation, and meals during the training workshop.
